Note: All of these consulting services have been provided through the Community Resource Center, a nonprofit capacity building organization serving the state of Colorado.

 

Large Projects and Initiatives:

  • Initiator and Co-Director, Weathering the Storm project: 2 statewide surveys, 2 reports (2008 and 2009) on the impact of the economic downturn on Colorado’s nonprofit community, and more than 40 trainings across Colorado.  Completed in partnership with the Colorado Nonprofit Association.  Project received coverage in national nonprofit publications, through the Associated Press, MSNBC.com, Forbes.com, and numerous local news sources (2008 to 2010). 
  • Project Director: Denver Office of Strategic Partnerships Nonprofit Capacity Building Program.  Strategic planning, program evaluation, and financial management consulting for 30 nonprofit organizations in Denver (2010).
  • Colorado Compassion Initiative, through the Bright Mountain Foundation.  One of two consultants providing customized consulting services to 15 nonprofit organizations across Colorado (2010).
  • Project Director: A Capacity Building Needs Assessment for Colorado for the Community Resource Center (2008 and 2009)

  • Crisis management for three organizations (organizational restructuring, cash flow/financial management analysis, and developing a crisis management plan to sustain the organizations’ operations)
  • Helping an environmental group with a strategic plan, which resulted in merging programs with another organization and then dissolving
  • Frequent consulting to nonprofit start-ups (how to start a nonprofit, sustainability considerations, duplication assessment, planning, and initial fundraising)
